Verify L.H.S and R.H.S at any value of θ

cos2θ-sin2θ=2tanθ1+tan2θ

Let, L.H.S.=cos2θ-sin2θ

When, θ=30

L.H.S.=cos230-sin230

=322-122=34-14=24=12

R.H.S.=2tan301+tan230

=231+132=233+13

L.H.S.R.H.S.

Hence, the given equation is not an identity.
