Solution

In a right-angled triangle, Pythagoras theorem applies,
Hence
Sum of the square of two sides is equal to the square of the third side.

(i) left parenthesis a minus 1 right parenthesis squared equals a squared plus 1 minus 2 a
(ii) left parenthesis 2 square root of a right parenthesis squared equals 4 a
(iii) left parenthesis a plus 1 right parenthesis squared equals a squared plus 1 plus 2 a

(i) + ( ii) = (iii)

Hence, Sum of the square of two sides is equal to the square of the third side.
Therefore it is right-angled triangle.
