Solution

The correct option is D Peroxisome
Peroxisomes are the organelles which are involved in the catabolism of long chain fatty acids, branched chain fatty acids, amino acids, etc. Catalase is a peroxisomal enzyme. This enzyme uses H2O2 to oxidize substrates like phenols, formic acid and other compounds by means of peroxidation reaction. The reaction is carried out by eliminating the poisonous hydrogen peroxide. This is important in liver and kidney cells where the peroxisomes detoxify various toxic substances that enter the blood.
Thus, the correct answer is option C.
