• While Dhanu's family and many others went far from the village in search for work, the old and ill people stayed behind. Also, there were very young kids who stayed behind. This is because, they could not have traveled.

• When Dhanu and other children leave the village for six months, studies in the village school continued. However, there was lesser number of students to attend it.
