Number of shells required to make 1 necklace = 28
Number of necklace he can make from 112 sea shells = 112÷28

(1 mark)

To do this division we will follow repeated subtraction
112 - 28 = 84
84 - 28 = 56
56 - 28 = 28
28 - 28 = 0

Since this completed in 4 steps. So, there can be 4 necklaces made from 112 sea shells.
