Solution

The correct option is C Macula densa-Function as chemoreceptors (sense concentrations of Na+, K+ and Cl-) and on sensing higher levels of these ions, release prostaglandins which suppress the granular cells from releasing renin.
Dialysis is done when the kidneys fail to function. A patient takes recourse to an artifical kidney to filter his blood of all urea deposits. Now, during ultra filtration in the glomerulous, apart from urea and water, many useful sodium , potassium ions too get filtered . The natural human kidney has a way to redo this loss by reabsorbing all the useful components of primary urine such as glucose, amino acids, vitamin C, Potassium, Calcium,Sodium, Chlorides and 75% of water thereby helping to maintian the proper pH level of the urine. This does not happen in an artificial kidney. Prolonged dialysis makes the patient become vulnerable to a host of diseases arising out of this imbalance and deficiency of ions. Hence, dialysis is not sustainable.
