Alkanes are hydrocarbons that consists of only single covalent bond . They can be straight chain or branched chain.
General Formula : CnH2n+2
for eg : CH4 ,C2H6 (CH3-CH3),
CH3-CH2-CH2-CH3
Alkenes are hydrocarbons that contain atleast one double covalent bond that is -C=C-.
General formula:
CnH2n
For eg :
CH3-CH=CH2
CH3-CH2-CH=CH2

These are upper two chambers of heart These are lower two chambers of heart
They are less muscular and smaller They are more muscular and larger
