Dear Student

The corrosion of Iron reacts with air and moisture to form hydrated Iron oxide which is called Rust. This rust is red in color.

​​​​​​4Fe+3O2+x.H2OFe2O3.xH2O(red)

In corrosion of Copper it reacts with air and moisture and form a green layer of CuCO3 and Cu(OH)2.

Cu+H20+CO2CuCO3.Cu(OH)2(green)
