Question

difference between dryopteris and funaria

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student,

Dryopteris is a fern and it belongs to Pteridophyta. It has spore-bearing leaves. Whereas Funaria is a moss. They lack vascular system. The gametophytic stage alternates with the sporophytic stage. Dryopteris is different from Funaria as it has an independent sporophyte. The main plant body is sporophytic (2n) in Dryopteris but is gametophytic in Funaria and sporophyte is dependent on gametophyte in Funaria.

Regards.
