Dear student,
The difference between efflorescence and deliquescence is as follows:
Deliquescent Efflorescent
These substances are solid and absorb moisture from the air. These substances are also solid and release water spontaneously from hydrated salts.
They dissolve in the absorbed moisture and form solutions. They do not absorb moisture or water vapour.
They are also called as dessicants. They are also called as crystals.
They show high water affinity. They do not show water affinity.
