Difference between mediated transport and in - facilitated diffusion (are both same)

Mediated-transport is the transport that requires membrane transport proteins or carrier. The facilitated transport is a type of mediated-transport in which transport occurs by either transmembrane integral proteins or channel-forming carriers which provide a passage for the transport of molecules through the membrane.
