A sign is evidence of the disease that the physician observes.

Symptoms:

A symptom is evidence of a disease that appears to the patient.

S.no Signs Symptoms
1.Visible and easily observable by health care professionals. Patient experiences the symptoms.
2.It can be easily measured by checking temperature, monitoring pulse rate, and more.Cannot be measured as the person only feels it.
3.Three types: Anamnestic signs, Prognostic signs, and Diagnostic signs.Three types: Chronic symptoms, Relapsing symptoms, and Remitting symptoms.
4.Signs of malaria - faster heart rate, fever, shivering.Symptoms of malaria- headache, mental confusion, and fatigue.
5.Example: Cancer, AIDS, Asthma, etc.Example: Body pain, headache, nausea, etc.
