Difference between silk moth and cocoon.

Silkworm is the larva or caterpillar of domestic silkmoth Bombyx mori. It is an economically important insect being producer of silk.
Silkmoth is an insect on the other hand cocoon is made of thread of raw silk.
Silkworms are a type of insect that spins silk cocoons around them after they turn approximately one month old. Whenever they are finally ready to start spinning their cocoons, they stop eating food and then they will turn yellowish. At this point, the silkworm take around 3 days to spin their cocoon around thenselves.
The silk that is used to this cocoons is actually hardened silkworm saliva that has been secreted from the silkworm's mouth. There a small spinner located on the silkworm lip, which is used to excreet the silk for their cocoons. The single strand of silk fromed by silkworm is about 1 mile long.
