Question

Difference between solids and liquids ?

Open in App
Solution

SolidLiquid
1.Solids are the kind of matter having a rigid structure opposing the change in their shape and volume. The particles in them are bound tightly and well-arranged in a regular pattern.
  1. In a liquid state of matter, particles are less tightly packed as compared to solids.
Liquids take the shape of the container in which they are kept.
2. Solids have fixed shapes with maximum inter-molecular attraction.
2.Liquids do not have a fixed shape and less inter molecular attraction than solids.
3.Solids do not require a container to be kept or stored.
3.Liquids require a container to be kept or stored in as they do not have a fixed volume.
