The sporophyll that bear male sporangium is called microsporophyll and the sporophyll that bear female sporangium is called macrosporophyll. The sporangium bearing male spores (microspores) is called microsporangium and the sporangium bearing female spores (megaspores) is called megasporangium.
These are diploid in nature. In sporangia meiosis occurs to form the haploid spores.
