Question

Difference between systemic and pulmonary circulation.

Open in App
Solution

  1. In human circulatory system blood passes through the heart twice.
  2. One is called systemic as the oxygenated blood passes from left ventricle to different organs via aorta.
  3. The other is pulmonary circulation as the deoxygenated blood from the organs that comes into right auricle moves down the right ventricle, from there it is taken to lungs via pulmonary artery. Thus, it is called double circulation.
