Question

difference between tides and waves?

Open in App
Solution

Tides are daily rise and fall of sea water. They are caused when the gravity of moon along with the gravity of the sun(which has lesser effect because it is far) pull the earth 's water bodies and the earth 's gravity pulls them back.

Whereas waves are up and down movements of the water caused by winds,The speed and duration of the winds determines the size and force of the waves.
