(a) Following are the difference between Asexual and Sexual reproduction:
Asexual reproduction Sexual reproductioni. It involves only one parent. iIt involves two parents.ii. Gametes are not formed.iiGametes are formed.iii. No fertilisation occurs. iii Fertilisation takes place.iv. Binary fission in amoeba, budding in hydra are different types of asexual reproduction.iv External fertilisation in frogs, internal fertilisation in organisms like chickens, humans are all examples of sexual reproduction.
(b) Following are the difference between Gametes and Zygote:
Gametes Zygotei.The specialised cells produced in sexual reproduction are called gametes, e.g. sperm (male) and ovum (female). iA zygote is the product of the fusion of male gamete and female gamete during sexual reproduction.ii.Gametes are unfertilised reproductive cells.iiZygote is a fertilised egg.iii. No new individuals are formed from gametes.iii New individuals are formed from zygote.
