Democracy and monarchy are different systems of governance of a country. The differences between them can be explained in the following points:


Democracy Monarchy
1. The government in a democracy is run by the people, either directly or indirectly. 1. The government is run by an individual, either a king or a queen.
2. People elect their representatives through the system of voting. 2. An individual becomes the king or queen based on the principle of heredity.
3. The laws are made by the parliament that consists of the legislature, executive and judiciary. 3. All the laws and important decisions are taken by the king or the queen.
4. Example: India, USA and Nepal 4. Example: Qatar and UAE
