(a) Difference between genotype and phenotype
Genotype
Genotype is the genetic makeup of an organism. The genotype carries the instructions for development and functioning of a cell. Genotype can be determined the DNA by genotyping methods. Completely depends on the gene sequences. Consists of all heredity information that is the expressed and suppressed genes.
Phenotype
Phenotype is the morphology properties and behaviour of an organism. It cannot determine by observing out outward characters. Depends on the genotype and environmental factors. Consist of expressed genes.
(b) Difference between character and trait
Character
The group of features, traits and characteristics that form the individual nature of some person or thing.
Trait
Is distinguishing characteristics equality, especially of one's personal nature.
(c) Difference between monohybrid and dihybrid
Monohybrid
Monohybrid involves cross between parents, with the first in only one pair of contrasting characters. For example, the cross between tall and dwarf pea plant.
Dihybrid
Dihybrid involves cross between parent comma which differ in two pair of contrasting characters. For example, the cross between pea plants having yellow wrinkled seed with those having green round seeds.
