Differentiate between a saturated and unsaturated solution?

Open in App
Solution

Solution is a homogeneous mixture of two or more components. A solution is formed by the combination of solute and solvent.

Saturated solution

Unsaturated solution

  • The solution obtained by dissolving maximum amount of solute at a given temperature is known as saturated solution.
  • A solution that cannot dissolve any more of the solute at a given temperature is called Saturated solution.
  • The solution before reaching saturation is called unsaturated solution.
  • A solution, in which more of the solute can be dissolved at a given temperature is called unsaturated solution.
  • A saturated solution become unsaturated if the temperature is raised.
  • Because more of the substance is soluble at higher temperature.
