Active acquired immunity and passive acquired immunity

The type of immunity which an organism obtains during the course of its life time, is known as acquired immunity. Active acquired immunity is achieved by injecting small amounts of antigen into the body of an individual, whereas passive acquired immunity develops through injection of immune serum present in already immunized organisms.
