Open in App
Solution

Animal speciation is usually allopatric. Allopatric speciation occurs when the new species evolves in geographic isolation from the parent species. Sympatric speciation occurs when a new species arises within the geographic range of its parent population without geographic isolation of the two. It is rare in animals.
