Differentiation: 1 Mark.

Isotopes (Greek isos equal + Greek baros weight) are atoms of an element with the same atomic number (number of protons) but with different mass number ( number of neutrons different). Example: Uranium-235 and uranium-238, carbon-12, carbon-13 and carbon-14

Isobars are atoms that have same mass number (Greek isos equal + Greek baros weight) but different atomic numbers. Example:-Manganese-56, Iron-56, Cobalt-56
