Arteries : Arteries are the blood vessels that carry blood from the heart to various parts of the body.

Veins : Veins are the blood vessels that carry blood from various organs of the body to the heart.

Arteries Veins
1. Arteries have thick and elastic muscular walls as they receives blood under high pressure from the heart.
1.The veins have thin and less elastic walls as the blood they carry is at low pressure.
2.Arteries have oxygenated blood except for the pulmonary artery which carries blood from the heart to the lungs.2. All the veins have de-oxygenated blood except the pulmonary vein that carries blood from the lungs to the heart.
3. Arteries does not have valves inside their lumen.3. Veins have valves inside their lumen that helps the blood to flow in one direction only.
