Differentiate between diabetes insipidus and diabetes mellitus.

Diabetes insipidus Diabetes mellitus
It is caused due to hyposecretion of vasopressin or ADH.
It is caused due to hyposecretion of insulin.
It leads to a reduced renal reabsorption of water and a consequent elimination of a large volume of very dilute (hypotonic) urine. It is a disorder of carbohydrate metabolism which leads to secretion of sugar in urine.
