Dear student,
Dominant allele or dominance means when a particular allele expresses itself even in presence of its recessive allele. It can be expressed in homozygous as well as heterozygous conditions.
Recessive allele means an allele which is expressed only in absence of the dominant allele. It is expressed only in homozygous conditions.
