Forebrain is the largest part of the brain that comprises about ⅔ of total brain mass.
Hindbrain is the region that controls the visceral functions.
Forebrain Hindbrain
1. It is situated at the forward portion of the brain. 1. It is situated at the lower back of the brain.
1. It is subdivided into two regions i.e the telencephalon and the diencephalon. 1. It is subdivided into two regions i.e the metencephalon and myelencephalon.
2. Two cranial nerves are present i.e the olfactory and optic cranial nerves. 2. Trigeminal, Abducent, Facial, Vestibulocochlear, Glossopharyngeal, Vagus, Accessory and Hypoglossal nerves are present.
