Differentiate between hard coke and soft coke.

Dear student,

Coke is the non-volatile residue left in the retorts and used as a reducing agent.
Hard coke :- Hard coke is obtained by high temperature carbanisation.It is used in metallurgy as a metallurgical coke.
Soft coke :- Soft coke is obtained by high temperature carbanisation.It is used as a domestic fuel for making water gas and acetylene.Also it is obtained as a by-product in the manufacture of coal gas.
