Mineralization:

  1. It refers to the process of decomposition of organic matters by microorganisms to release nitrogen, sulfur, phosphorus, and other inorganic compounds that can be readily assimilated by plants.

Humification is the process of conversion of simplified detritus into dark-coloured amorphous substance humus in the soil.

Mineralization is the process that results in the release of inorganic substances in soil.
