(i) Cannabinoids are a class of diverse chemical compounds that repress neurotransmitter release in the brain. These are known as psychoactive compounds. They alter the mechanism of the nervous system.
Whereas barbiturates are a type of depressant drug that causes relaxation and sleepiness. They have the mechanism like the depressants. They induce sleep and stimulate the nervous system to rest.
(ii) Biotic potential is defined as the inherent capacity of an organism to produce their offspring's under natural conditions. This is the capacity to reproduce by the organism when there are resources available.
Whereas carrying capacity is defined as the capacity of an environment or an ecosystem to support and sustain a level of the population under an ideal set of conditions. This is the capacity of organisms which can be produced without affecting the amount of resources.
