Insulin

Glucagon

This hormone is synthesized and secreted by the beta cells of the pancreas.It is produced and released by the alpha cells of the pancreas.
It promotes glucose conversion into glycogen.It stimulates the formation of glucose through gluconeogenesis.
It causes a decrease in the blood sugar level.It causes an elevation in the blood sugar level.
A low amount of insulin secretion in the body results in diabetes.A low amount of glucagon secretion in the body results in hypoglycemia.
