Open in App
Solution

Melting point: It is the temperature at which a solid gets converted into a liquid.

Boiling Point: The temperature at which a liquid boils and turns to vapour.

Melting Point Boiling Point
It is the temperature at which a solid gets converted into a liquid at atmospheric pressure. It is the temperature at which a liquid gets converted into its vapour state.
At this temperature, the solid phase is in equilibrium with the liquid phase. At this temperature, the liquid phase is in equilibrium with the vapour phase.
For example- The melting point of ice is 00Ci.e., at this point ice is converted into water and ice is in equilibrium with the water. For example- The boiling point of ice is 1000Ci.e., at this point water is converted into water vapour and water is in equilibrium with the vapour phase.
