1) In NPN transistor, current flows from collectror terminal to emitter terminal while in PNP transistor, current flows from emitter terminal to collector terminal.
2) NPN transistor is made up of two N-type material layers with P-type sandwiched while PNP transistor is made up of two P-type material layers with N-type sandwiched.
3) NPN transistor switches on with the increase in current in the base terminal while the PNP transistor switches on when there is no current flow at the base terminal.
