Region of occurrence

Pectoral girdle is located in the shoulder region and is also called the shoulder girdle.
Pelvic girdle is located in the hip region and also called the hip girdle.

Composition

Pectoral girdle is made of two bones, the scapula and the clavicle.
Pelvic girdle is formed by joining two innominate bones.
Each innominate bone is composed of ilium, ischium and pubis.

Articular region

The region where the superior and lateral border of the scapula meets the glenoid cavity is formed.
The outer surface possesses a depression called acetabulum.The head of the femur articulates with the acetabulum.
