Plasmolysis Deplasmolysis
It occurs due to exosmosis. It occurs due to endosmosis.
Water moves out of the cell and the cell contents shrink away from the cell wall. Water moves into the cell and the cell contents move towards the cell wall. The cell organelles get back to their original state.
It occurs when the cells are placed in a hypertonic solution i.e the solute concentration of the surrounding solution is higher than the solute concentration of the cell. It occurs when the cells are placed in a hypotonic solution i.e the solute concentration of the surrounding is less than the solute concentration of the cell.
The osmotic pressure of the cell is low. The osmotic pressure of the cell is high.
