The difference between real and virtual images are:

Real ImageVirtual Image
1. Real images are formed outside the reflective surface.1. Virtual images are formed behind the reflective surface.
2. Real images are formed when the reflected rays meet at a point away from the reflective surface after reflection.2. Virtual images are formed when the reflected rays appear to meet but behind the reflective surface.
3. Real images are formed on screens away from reflective surfaces. Such images are formed by Concave mirror when the object is placed at a distance equal to or more than its focal length.3.Virtual images will not appear on screen but are rather apparent behind the reflective surfaces. such images are formed by Convex mirrors.
