The difference between sclerenchyma and collenchyma tissue with respect to their cell wall , are as follows :
Collenchyma tissue Sclerenchyma tissue
1. Cells are living,polygonal and cell wall have localised thickening confined to their corners only. 1. Cells are dead, polygonal and cell wall have uniform thickening such that the lumen becomes narrow.
2. Cell wall is made up of cellulose and pectin. 2. Cell wall is made up of lignin.
