SELF-POLLINATION CROSS-POLLINATION
1) The process of transferring the pollen grains from the anther to the stigma of the same flower or the stigma of a flower on the same plant is called self-pollination.
2) It occurs in genetically same plants.
3) No external pollinating agents are required.
4) Eg- Orchids.
1) The process by which the pollen grains are transferred from the anther of a flower to the stigma of another flower of the same species is called cross-pollination.
2) It occurs in genetically different plants of the same species.
3) External pollinating agents are required for this type of pollination (water, wind, insects etc).
4) Eg- Papaya.
