Filtration is a process in which we separate solid particles from a mixture of solid-liquid with the help of filter paper The liquid particles which passes through the filter paper are called as filtrate.Filtration is a process in which we separate solid particles from a mixture of solid-liquid with the help of filter paper .The solid particles which settles on the filter paper are called as residue.
If we take a mixture of sand and water and passes it through filter paper then water passes through the filter paper as filtrate and collected in another beaker as filtrate.If we take a mixture of sand and water and passes it through filter paper then sand is deposited as residue on the filter paper.
