Mobility and compressibility

Solution

Difference between mobility and compressibility-

MobilityCompressibility
Mobility in chemistry is defined as the ability of particles to move.Compressibility is the ability of any matter to reduce in side under the influence of pressure.
Mobility is maximum in gases as they have the least intermolecular force of attraction.Compressibility is maximum in gases as they have the most intermolecular space and they can be compressed further in order to occupy less space having same volume.

Order of mobility in different states of matter

Gas>Liquid>Solid

Order of compressibility in different states of matter

Gas>Liquid>Solid

For example, gases are put in a closed container to avoid the escape of their particles in the surroundings.Gases are compressed in cylinders whereas we can not compress solids.
