Myopia:
It is a defect of vision of the eye which is also called short sightedness where a person is able to see near by objects clearly and not distant objects.
Hypermetropia:
It is a defect of vision of the eye which is also called far sightedness where a person is able to see distant objects clearly and not near by objects.

The eyeball is lengthened along the horizontal axis.
The eyeball is shortened along the horizontal axis.
The cornea is curved and the lens becomes convex.
