Solution
Systole is the phase of the heartbeat when the myogenic muscle contracts and pumps blood from the chambers of heart into the arteries, whereas the diastole is the phase when the myogenic muscle relaxes and allows the chambers to get filled with blood.
In the numeric expression of blood pressure (120/80 mm Hg) , the top number or the maximum pressure exerts while beating is the systolic pressure and the bottom number or the minimum pressure exerts is the diastolic pressure.
