Photoreceptor cells of the retina:

The human retina contains two types of photoreceptor cells - Rod cells and cone cells.

Rod cells:

  1. These are rod-shaped cells.
  2. They help us to see objects in dim light.
  3. Rod cells generally form black and white vision.

Cone cells:

  1. These are cone-shaped cells.
  2. They are responsible for color vision.
  3. They help us to see objects in bright light.
