Solution

Plasmolysis:

Deplasmolysis:

  1. When a plasmolyzed plant cell is placed in a hypotonic solution, water diffuses into the cell and the cell becomes turgid. This is known as deplasmolysis.

Difference between plasmolysis and deplasmolysis (definition):

Plasmolysis

Deplasmolysis

Plasmolysis is defined as the contraction of cytoplasm from the cell wall when placed in a hypertonic solution.

Deplasmolysis is defined as the swelling of the cytoplasm of a plasmolyzed cell when placed in a hypotonic solution.
