These are those which inhibit the growth of plants like Ethylene and Abscisic acid.

These are those which promote the growth of plants like Auxin and Gibberellins.

It helps in cell division. It helps in cell enlargement. It helps in tropic growth. It helps in seed formation. Examples:- Auxins, Gibberellins, cytokinins	It helps in the dormancy of the seed.
