Differentiate between the following:
Transpiration and photosynthesis
Transpiration-Transpiration is the process of loss of water in the form of water vapour from the aerial parts of the plant.
Photosynthesis- It is a process in which plant produces glucose by utilizing carbon-dioxide and water in the presence of sunlight.
Transpiration | Photosynthesis |
| 1.Glucose is synthesized. |
2. Water evaporates through the stomata. | 2.Glucose is synthesized in the chloroplast. |
3. It is unidirectional. | 3.It takes place in all the green regions of the plants. |
4. Water travels through the xylem. | 4.Starch produced is transported through phloem. |
