  1. The material which allows the electric current to pass through itself is called an electric conductor.
  2. Example- Copper, silver, iron etc.
  3. Electric charge can move freely inside the conductor.
  4. Electrical resistance of a conductor is very low.
  1. The material which does not allow the electric current to pass through itself is called an electric insulator.
  2. Example - Wood, plastic, rubber, etc.
  3. Electric charge cannot move freely inside the insulator.
  4. Electrical resistance of an insulator is very high.
