Types:

1. Based on the type of excretory product released by organisms, they are divided into three main categories namely - ammonotelic, ureotelic, and uricotelic.
2. Ammonotelic organisms are those that excrete ammonia as their waste product.
3. Ureotelic organisms are those that excrete urea as their waste product.
4. Uricotelic organisms are those that excrete uric acid as their waste product.

Excretory product	The organisms that release ammonia as their excretory product are called ammonotelic organisms.
