Question

Differentiate between the scalar and vector quantities, giving two examples of each.

Open in App
Solution

Scalars are quantities which have magnitude only. For example temperature (room temperature is 200C, there is no point of direction) and mass (2kg mass of an object).
While vector quantities have both magnitude and direction. For example force (2N force is applied in forward direction) and velocity (object is moving with 3ms1 in north-east direction).
